Korean Zombie Talks Dustin Poirier, Love Of Striking

By Chris Howie <Br> MMANEWS.COM Staff Writer<Br><Br> Chan Sung Jung AKA "The Korean Zombie" talked about his featherweight match up with Dustin Poirier Tuesday night at UFC on FUEL TV 3 and gave his thoughts on why he feels he has the advantage heading into the bout, which could have title shot implications:<Br><Br> "Dustin Poirier is a very well-rounded fighter, and I think his skill level all-around is very even. But I think that it's his strong point and it's also sort of a weak point because he doesn't really stand out in any particular area. I think that's what's going to be an advantage for me, is that I feel like I have an edge on him in all the different facets of the game. When I was training, it was easy for me to train to come up with ways and strategies to sort of take advantage of the fact that he doesn't really stand out in one particular area more than another."<Br><Br> Jung, who has dazzled fans with impressive striking and all out wars in previous outings, also talked about his background and why his favorite part of MMA is the stand up game:<Br><Br> "It probably starts with my background in kickboxing since that's what I started doing. I feel like hitting the other guy and coming out with striking is the basis of the game for me, really. I think of mixed martial arts, for me, as something that extends out of the striking. It's not just, you go to the ground, and then there's the ground game, and there's the standing game separate. It's more like, from the standing game, if I need to, I can take him to the ground and show my skills there. But it starts, for me, with the striking."<Br><Br> Read More HERE...<Br><Br> Leave your feedback on this article by posting a comment directly below! Chris Lytle comes up short in senate bid

UFC veteran Chris Lytle lost his bid to win the Republican state Senate nomination in Indiana on Tuesday. He came in second with 30 percent of the vote behind Mike Crider who had 41 percent. After the results came in, he made a concession tweet.

Almost. I finished 2nd. It was a good fight.

Lytle's last MMA bout was a win over Dan Hardy in August. He announced his retirement just before the bout, then won by a submission. His campaign started less than a month after the bout.

His campaign drew support from the MMA community, as fighters Matt Mitrione, Chael Sonnen and Patrick Cote encouraged the Lytle's district to get out and vote for him. Both fighters and fight fans liked Lytle because of his style in the cage. He earned a record of 31-18-5 and picked up $515,000 in fight night bonuses during his 12-year fight career.

Chin up, Chris. Be comforted by the fact that you can knock out anyone who didn't vote for you.

UFC on Fuel 3 Results: T.J. Grant shines in decision win over Carlo Prater in Virginia

By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief

T.J. Grant put on an MMA clinic against Carlo Prater at UFC on Fuel 3 on Tuesday night, controlling every aspect of the fight through 15 minutes to earn a unanimous decision.

Grant was comfortable striking with Prater throughout, but he shined against the Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt on the ground, scoring takedowns, passing, and attacking for submissions. He nearly finished the fight at the horn as he snatched a late armbar, but Prater was saved by the end of the fight.

Grant has now won two straight in the lightweight division, and looks very impressive in that weight class. Prater technically is 1-1 now in his UFC run after a DQ win in his debut in January.
